Tapping into Your Natural Power

How ahhhmazing would it feel to be able to tap into your own natural power whenever you wanted to?! Let’s see what we can come up with- ways YOU can do this- with a simple brainstorm!

  1. What does powerful feel like for you? How do you sound, look, and feel when you are at your most powerful?

  2. What specific practices, stances and phrases, make you feel POWERFUL?! Once you know the answer to these... you guessed it- start implementing. I’ll share a couple of my practices, and I would love to hear yours!

My first self example is a little ‘out there’... I feel most powerful, most in my own authentic voice and space when I’m wearing a Buff on my head. (Those little bits of cloth that could also pass for a doo-rag... I have them in way too many colours!) Another simple tool that allows me to access my natural power is that when I speak, I place my hands towards the earth, palms down, helps me to ground my voice and communicate from a stable and self-trusting place.

And, finally, to feel strong and supported, I meditate on the words of Maya Angelou: “I come as 1 but I stand as 1,000.” (JUUUUUICY- and for more amazing Maya, check out the BBC archives of Book Club for a session on I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings with Dr. Angelou herself).
